Every year the Bonita Business & Professional Association sponsors “Bonitafest”.It’s a Wild West tradition bringing together family, communities and business to celebrate the heritage of Bonita and the Sweetwater Valley. Bonitafest takes place on Bonita Road starting at the corner of Otay Lakes Road and ending at Willow Street. Booths featuring crafts, games, exhibitions, music and food will be set up alongside various parking lots. Bonitafest will take place this year on Saturday, September 26, beginning as early as 6:00am for a community breakfast and ending at 5:00pm with stage music, performed by local artists. Mark your calendars early, Bonitafest happens only once a year and you don’t want to miss it.
The unincorporated community of Bonita sits between the cities of Chula Vista, National City, and San Diego City. Bonita’s climate contains a combination of coastal and inland valley temperatures. Thus, Bonita is warmer than San Diego’s coastal communities, but cooler than San Diego’s inland communities. With its impeccable climate, Bonita attracts visitors from all around San Diego County with its annual Bonitafest. Celebrating local crafts, food, and arts, Bonitafest is a popular event. Homes for sale in San Diego real estate in Bonita soar.
Another site of Bonita is Sweetwater Regional Park, which offers a near escape from the city. Only about 10 miles away from Downtown San Diego, Sweetwater Regional Park includes horse trails which lead towards the ocean.
